MTB Font de la Mata

Beautiful single tracks and a fantastic landscape

MTB tour Font de la Mata

This varied mountain bike route, which is not suitable for unexperienced riders, starts from Javea in the direction of Jesus Pobre. We pass through olive groves and orange plantations on flat terrain.

On narrow asphalt roads and gravel roads, the path along the Montgo mountain leads us through Jesus Pobre and towards Gata de Gorgos. From here we depart for the hills. After a climb beautiful single tracks follow, which will put a smile on every rider’s face and provide the necessary fun factor. The route takes us through a dreamlike landscape. Mountains, dried-up riverbeds, pine trees and oleanders as far as the eye can see are our constant companions on this route. The trails will take us uphill and downhill and over gravel and pebbles.

A twisty path takes us along canyons and steep cliffs. From Senija, we take a single track of limestone sediments until we reach a road where the tour continues to Lliber. After a short break we start our way back towards Gata de Gorgos, where gravel and forest paths alternate as substrate. Depending on your fitness level, another trail can be inserted at this point, which, however, makes a further ascent inevitable.

Once back in Gata de Gorgos, a sloping trail takes us down into the dried-up riverbed of the Riu Gorgos. We ride flat terrain back to Javea which makes it an easy end.
